Starting Prices by Size
Every basin is priced individually based on its specific requirements, but as a general guide:
Small — up to 800mm
From £800
Medium — up to 1200mm
From £1,000
Large — up to 2400mm
From £1,800
These are starting prices for a single bowl basin in a standard design. The final price will depend on a number of factors covered below — but these figures give you a realistic baseline to work from.
What Affects the Price?
Size and Scale
The most straightforward factor. A larger basin requires more material, more cuts, more adhesive, more time. As a general rule, the bigger the piece, the higher the price.
For basins over 1500mm, the build requires an XL format slab of backer board rather than standard sheets. This adds to both the material cost and the complexity of the build, and is reflected in the final price.
Number of Bowls
Every bowl cut into a basin adds significant work to the build. Each one requires the top tile to be precisely cut out, internal tiles to be measured, cut and mitered, envelope cuts for drainage, and a waste hole drilled with a specialist kit. A double basin therefore costs more than a single of the same overall dimensions — and a triple more again.
Design Complexity
A straightforward rectangular basin with clean lines is the most efficient build. More complex designs — unusual dimensions, additional features, or non-standard forms — take longer and require more skill, which is reflected in the price.
Tile Supply
You have two options when it comes to tiles. You can supply your own tiles directly — in which case the tile cost sits with you and we just price the build. Or we can source the tiles on your behalf from our network of Spanish and Italian porcelain suppliers, in which case the tile cost is added to the overall price of the commission.
If you already have a tile in mind or have leftover tiles from another project, supplying them yourself can be a straightforward way to keep costs down.
